Canon launches three new 10-megapixel compact digital cameras

Canon IXUS 85 ISThere are more new cameras from Canon today – its just announced the Digital IXUS 85 IS, IXUS 90 IS and IXUS 970 IS. The IXUS 85 IS and IXUS 90 are both 10-megapixel compact cameras with optical image stabilisation, face detection and a whole host of other clever features that constitute a digital camera in this modern age.

The IXUS 90 IS also has “exquisitely engineered angles”, though Canon doesn’t state what they are. We’re guessing the ever-popular ‘90 degrees’ features extensively, though.

The new IXUS 970 also has a 10-megapixel CCD but couples it with a 5x optical zoom, as well as optical image stabilisation. No mention of angles, though.

The Digital IXUS 90 IS and IXUS 85 IS area available from late March for around £259.00 and £239.00 inc VAT, respectively. The IXUS 970 IS is available from early April 2008 for around £299.00 inc VAT.
