HTC's Android 'Dream' phone ready for launch?

Android prototypeSmartphone maker, HTC, has just sent out word of a press conference on 6th May, inviting members of the press to "Witness the next wave of HTC Innovation". Could it be the TyTn III? The Touch Telepathy? Or, perhaps, the 'Dream', the codename for HTC's first Android-based Google phone?

We've already seen plenty of Android prototypes (pictured) but this could be the first time we'll get firm details on a launch handset. The date rings true with HTC's previous promise to bring an Android phone to market in the middle of this year.

Rumoured specs include touch-screen menus and a possible slide-out keyboard as well as an iPhone/Touch style on-screen one. We'll bring you more on the day. Let's just hope it's not just to welcome us all back from the May Day weekend.
