Canon updates PIXMA portable printer
Canon's revealed a new addition to its long line of portable inkjets. The PIXMA iP100 updates the current iP90v, bringing with it the promise of finer prints and bolder blacks.
It receives a new 9600dpi 'FINE' printhead, which now delivers up to 9600 x 2400dpi photos. Bringing it up to spec with its desktop siblings it also gets a full five-ink system with Photo Black ink, for better performance when printing snaps, and larger pigment standard black ink for bolder text documents.
Like its predecessor, it comes loaded with Bluetooth and the now pretty much defunct irDA for beaming photos and documents from laptops and phones. It also manages borderless prints of up to 10x15cm in under a minute.
Road warriors will also be pleased to note the optional battery for truly portable printing. It'll be out next month for £199, or £249 with battery.
