Dell's art-inspired Inspirons

by Julian Prokaza on Thursday 08 May 2008 Comment

Dell Inspiron 1525 Special EditionThese are Dell's Special Edition Inspiron 1525 laptops. The designer notebooks carry the artwork of Brooklyn-based artist, Mike Ming. He says he: “wanted to create a sense of energy, playfulness, sophistication and psychedelic momentum," with his scribblings. Our thoughts exactly.

The special editions are the first in a series of designer Dells, which vice president of Consumer Experience Design, Ed Boyd, says is a trend he's, "excited to see continue."

The Ming Inspirons can be had from a surprisingly modest $699 - a $100 premium on a standard 1525. Dell hasn't said whether they'll be arriving here or whether any UK artists will get a look-in. A Damien Hirst Vostro perhaps?
