Palm Treo 850 pics: Wi-Fi included?

The Boy Genius Report appears to have bagged another Palm exclusive, this time in the shape of some Treo 850 pictures.

Look closely at the fuzzy main image over at BGR (or replicated her, for your viewing convenience) and you’ll notice that Internet Explorer appears to show the device to indeed be a release candidate one (RC1) Treo 850.

Then, over at The Register, Tony Smith has taken the second photo and run with it: he directs readers to look closely at the switch visible on the side of the Treo 850 (which is balanced pictured atop a Blackberry 8800 for size comparison). Smith reckons this switch bears a “classic wireless signal strength icon”. We’re inclined to agree. Smith also says that the space next to this possible Wi-Fi switch could be an infrared port. On that, we’re less convinced, though it would be in keeping with the Palm Centro specification.

As for the Boy Genius, well, he reckons that the Treo 850 has a 400Mhz processor and 100Mb of RAM, though says that details are still coming in. So we guess we’ll just have to keep watching. You should, too, because he’s not too often wrong. Link below.
