More Sony Xperia X1 specs

We’re getting to know more and more about Sony’s forthcoming Xperia X1 smartphone, even if it’s not entirely clear when the device may actually go on sale.

The Xperia will be produced in conjunction with HTC, which doubtless explains the TyTN II-like keyboard design. It’ll be quad-band with HSUPA, have both Wi-Fi, Bluetooth A2DP and Assisted GPS (A-GPS). It measures 110 x 17 x 53mm, weighs 145g and has a 3in, 800 x 480 screen. But we told you all this three months ago. So what have we learned this week? Well, more after the jump.

Some new white papers posted the on the developers area of the Sony Ericsson website show that the Xperia X1 will have 256MB of SDRAM and 512MB of NAND and run Windows Mobile 6.1. As well, it will have a 3.2-megapixel camera, FM radio and a microSD memory card slot. Talktime will be up to 10 hours (GSM) or down to 3.1 hours (video calls).

Anything else, oh – loads. But perhaps our favourite feature is the ‘3D Fish panel’. What’s that? Why, it’s “a panel that showcases the 3D features of the phone; a fish tank with 3D fishes”, of course. There’s much, much more over at Sony Ericsson. You know where to click.

Symbian is perhaps good for people who really don't NEED a phone like this, and instead just want a phone who has all the features.
