Eee PC 1000 specs and pictures leaked

Blogeee’s source of inside information at Asus has come up trumps again, supplying the French blog with photographs of the forthcoming Eee PC 1000. Elsewhere, Hexus has managed to capture a snapshot of a point-of-sale card (pic after the jump) that appears to carry the new UMPC’s specifications.

At the time of writing, Blogeee.net is down (probably due to traffic generated by the huge interest in all things Eee PC), but luckily for you we’ve gathered the pertinent points here. As this Blogeee photo composition (top left) shows, the 10in Eee PC 1000 is clearly bigger than the Eee PC 901, which is hardly surprising for a gadget sporting a larger 10in display. More specs after the jump.

All these specifications come directly from the aforementioned promotional placard (pictured right), snapped by Hexus on the Asus stand at Computex 08 in Taipei. We’ll assume it’s genuine but as ever with these things, there’s no guarantee.

If it is real, then the Eee PC 1000 will have a 10in display (but we already knew that, right?), an Intel Atom processor (ditto), Linux or XP Home, up to 2GB of RAM, and 80GB hard disk (for XP variants; Linux capacity is not stated), 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, 1.3-megapixel camera, 3.2- to 5-hour battery life and a weight of 1.45kg (3.19lbs).

It’s sounding more and more like a old-school notebook every day, huh?
