Asus Eee PC 904 officially official rumours - price and specs
We've had what appear to be official quotes and even official looking pics, but nothing on what'll be going inside the Asus Eee 904 – the little laptop in a bigger laptop's body.
Now, though, What Laptop has come up with 'official' details on the specifications – and a launch price: £269, including VAT. That would make it a good deal cheaper than the same-size, but larger screened Eee PC 1000 , which is expected to cost well over £300 when it goes on sale later in the year.
The catch? It will have an 8.9in screen (the Eee PC 1000 has a 10in screen) and it won't have the new Intel Atom processor (say what?). Instead it'll use the lowly 900MHz Celeron M ripped straight from the original Eee PC 900 , all backed up by 1GB RAM and 80Gb traditional hard drive.
WL has it pegged for launch in the next couple of weeks. And good news if you're after an 8.9in laptop that's actually sized like an 8.9in laptop – the Eee PC 901 will also be getting a price cut, down from £329 to £299.
