Nokia N96 to land on 3 this September

Nokia N96The N95 has been wearing Nokia's flagship crown for what seem like an eternity but its replacement is finally in sight. T3.com reports that 3 will be launching the new all-singing N96 in the UK in just two months' time.

As if to confirm the news, Play.com, which has been advertising the N96 for sale on pre-order, has just shifted its expected shipping date from 31st July to 30th September.

Like its predecessor, the N96 will have a 5MP Carl Zeiss-lensed camera, GPS, HSDPA, Wi-Fi and the same dual-slide design but it will now come with twice the memory, 16GB, and a DVB-H receiver - should mobile TV ever get off the ground here.

3 will be offering it with its standard tariffs including the £15 a month Mix and Match option, making it a cheaper alternative to the iPhone 3G.
