New Nokia Tube / 5800 XpressMusic photos leaked

The ever-reliable Boy Genius Report has posted a series of shots of Nokia’s would-be iPhone toppler, the Tube – and boy, they’re not too pretty.

We’ve hoisted one of BGR’s pictures here, just for illustration’s sake, but for the full set, follow the link after the cut (though frankly, if you do you’ll likely wish you didn’t). Perhaps more interesting is the list of specs posted alongside the Boy’s collection of grubby Nokia Tube photos. More after the jump.

The Tube, also known as the 5800 XpressMusic (or XpressMedia – no one seems quite sure), has an expected component list that reads like a roll-call for modern smartphones: behind the 640 x 360-pixel display will be a 3.2-megapixel camera (assisted by a dual-LED flash), 140MB of  memory and GPS, EDGE, HSDPA (3G), wi-fi, Bluetooth radios.

Interesting, the Tube is also expected to feature one of Nokia’s touted ‘haptic feedback’ keyboards. In case you have no idea what this means, Tube users can expect their handset’s touch-sensitive display to vibrate with joy each time they tap the on-screen keyboard – emulating the feel of using a real tapper.

However, like the Boy Genius Report, we’re rather hoping that the images shown on these leaked images aren’t representative of the Tube’s final interface: it looks like a V-Tech toy. And unless you’re five, that’s not a good thing.
