Lenovo 'considering' Eee rival

Lenovo ThinkPad X300Crack Far-East news source, Digitimes, has dug up another tasty news morsel with the story that ThinkPad maker Lenovo is cooking up an Eee-style 'netbook'.

Course, Lenovo is no stranger to slimmed down computing with the likes of the high-end X-series (pictured) but this would be a more consumer-focussed, low-cost model along more usual UMPC lines.

Digitimes say that Lenovo's Ken Wong has confirmed it's at least 'considering' the move - with investigations progressing as far as lining up three possible manufacturers.

The launch is pegged for as soon as September this year. If Lonovo can keep the build-quality high and the price low, it could well have a winner on its hands.
