Apple: MobileMe Mail now working

MobileMeIf you've been one of the 'one percent' of users having serious trouble with the new MobileMe Mail, Apple has some good news.

It says it's solved the problem with one of its mail servers that caused a large number of customers to be blocked from using their email accounts for over a week. It also says it's managed to recover the emails dated 16th, 17th and 18th July that it thought had been lost to the digital ether forever.

Apple's MobileMe status page now states: "We have completed restoring Mail service, including historical messages, to all of the 1% of affected members.

"By completing this restoration of Mail services, we hope we have put the vast majority of MobileMe Mail problems behind us and can now focus on improving other aspects of this new ambitious service."

Those other aspects will include the billing issues and problems with synching that have also been causing havoc for MobileMe users. Apple's promising another update later this week.
