Asus president, Jerry Shen has confirmed that not just new Eee PCs are on the way, but entirely new categories of Eees. As well as the current crop, which are being pitched - with all the allure of a pair of slacks - as 'Smart Casual', will be the 'Pro Fashion' and 'Ultimate' ranges, with added bells and whistles.
The two new ranges are expected later this year and will feature - get this - dual core Atom processors as well as boosted storage capacities with 120GB hard drives or 32GB SSDs. Click through for more.
According to Shen, the first Ultimate Eee could be here as soon as September. The 'S' series (that's S for solid state drive) will have a 10.1in LED backlit widescreen and a premium price tag between $700 and $900.
The Asus roadmap (pictured), which leaked earlier in the week, shows the new model to be the S101, described as 'exquisite' and 'extreme slim and light', so we're expecting to be impressed.
An S91 model is also listed, which we'll take to be a 9in version of the S101. No news on when the 'Pro Fashion' models - described as 'precise', 'mature' and, er, 'fancy touch' - might hit. Four are listed but without any spec details.
