Apple releases iPhone 2.0.2. More mystery bug fixes

Another week, another iPhone 'bug fixes' release from Apple, with iPhone 2.0.2 now available on iTunes. And another bug fixes release from Apple, another complete stonewalling of journalists who might hazard to ask which bugs have been fixed.

We really don’t know why Apple feels the need to be so secretive about such matters. After all, many of the iPhone bugs are well-known and need fixing. No-one would complain if Apple announced a bug fix schedule. Hey, some people might even thank it. And if Apple really wants to crack the enterprise market, it’s going to need to learn to be a little more open about what fixes are being made, and when. So, what are the latest bug fixes? Less after the cut.

Well, as it is, all we can tell you is that Apple has loosed the 2.0.2 iPhone update onto iTunes. It might fix the 3G connectivity issues that have been bubbling around the Apple Discussions forums for a while now. Or it might not. It might fix the terrible, terrible lag that all too often afflicts the iPhone’s keyboard. Or it might not.

We’re installing it the 249MB update now and may report back later as to the effects of the bug fixes. Or we might not. In the meantime, if anyone from Apple wishes to offer enlightenment, you know where to ignore us.
