A Blackberry Thunder by any other name is a Storm

Blackberry Strom box render

The United States and the United Kingdom - two countries separated by a common language, if RIM's naming ideas are anything to go by. From leaked box designs it appears RIM's 'iPhone killer', hitherto known as the Blackberry Thunder, will go by the name of Blackberry Storm when it launches Stateside. Click through for more.

We'd love to say the leaked Verizon Wireless render also gives away the final specs but all that's listed on the side is that it has a 3.5mm stereo jack, 8GB SanDisk microSD card and a "SIM card pre-installed" - whoo!

Back here in Blighty we're assured the touchcscreen 'mailer will remain the good old Thunder when it launches on Vodafone - as it will on Rogers in Canada. Good to see our Commonwealth ties are still strong.
