Lessev is more for mobile charging

It might look like a Tupperware salad bowl but the Lessev Mobile Station is in fact a super-tidy charging point for pocket gadgets and gizmos.

We first spotted it today over at Japan Trend Shop, though a bit of research suggests that it has in fact been around for a couple of months now, having first surfaced at Tokyo’s Interior Lifestyle show in June. So how does it work? Well, a bit more description, and another pic, after the cut.

Designed by a chap called Takafumi Nemoto, the Lessev Mobile Station is a simple design that looks just great. Inside the bowl sits a multi-gang power strip into which you plug your charger. Then, the charging cords slot through the small crossed slats in the lid, to connect to your mobile devices plonked on top. As we said, it’s simple but the design keeps all the messy cabling concealed from view with, so far as we can tell, just one cable needing to be trailed to a mains socket.

No details of a UK distributor as yet but Japan Trend Shop is knocking them out at $79 plus $29 for shipping. But if you want to make your own, our local Woollies is selling a similar-shaped plastic bowl with lid for £1.99.
