LG laptop displays, with privacy built-in

LG Privacy PanelWe've seen third-party plastic films that do the same job but this is the first time anti-snooping tech has been built-in to a laptop display. The special Privacy Protection panels from LG offer a standard 175-degree viewing angle, but can be adjusted down to just 60 degrees when needed.

It's all down to LG's Viewing-angle Image Control Display (VIC) technology and ensures that nosey fellow plane passengers can't have a peak over your shoulder at any sensitive information you're working on. Instead their treated to a confounding black screen as you merrily continue working. And, unlike some of the plastic overlays we've seen, LG reckons the technology doesn't have any significant effect on screen brightness for the user.

Mass production of the panels begins in a month. Expect them to find their way into a laptop near you soon.
