T-Mobile's Android G1 on sale today

A T-Mobile G1 in Hatfield!Today's the day to get your paws on the T-Mobile G1. In fact you may already be reading this on your shiny new touchscreen Android handset because doors opened at 7am at T-Mobile stores in eager anticipation of hoards of Google Phone seekers.

It goes on sale on T-Mob's standard contracts from £30 or for free on £40+ tariffs with free web'n'walk worth £7.50 thrown in. More after the jump.

So far there are no reports of pandemonium so don't expect Cabbage Patch Doll style scenes when you saunter down to your local store.

Meanwhile, EA has announced three games for the G1. The ever popular Tetris goes on sale from today with everyone's PDA favourite Bejewelled following some time next month alongside Monopoly. EA's promising more titles to come, which should help the G1 in its battle with the iPhone, whose gaming abilities are currently being trumpeted in Apple's latest ads.

And in some rather timely news Unlock-TmobileG1.com is claiming to have already unlocked the G1 from its T-Mobile shackles. The claim comes complete with video "proof" - though it'll costs you $23 to find out if it really does work.

Drop us a line if you are in possession of a G1 - we're still waiting for T-Mobile to send us a review unit, so we might as well cut it out of the loop competely and find out what a new owner thinks about it.

Was taken at a demo at T-mobile UK's HQ, not at the shop.
