One day Apple Sale - £61 off a MacBook

Apple MacBookThe Americans call it Black Friday - that day when every retailer tries to attract in Christmas shoppers with 24-hour discounts - here they call it a "special one-day Apple shopping event". Will there be elves? Who cares. It's your chance to grab a few cheeky pre-Christmas bargains on Apple goods.

Kicking off the fire sale is a slightly random 6.4% off a new 2.0GHz 13-inch MacBook, down from £949 to £888 and a penny - a saving of £60.99. Read on for more savings savvy shoppers.

Bizarely, the 2.4GHz 13-incher gets an extra penny off - £61 - to fall to £1088, a 5.3% saving, while the old white model has just £31 shaved off to trip the tills at £688 - still the cheapest MacBook you can get your hands on.

There are better bargains to be had in the accessories section, with nearly a third off the be.ez LEvertigo Ebène bag for 15" MacBook Pro (try saying that when you're drunk - in fact, try saying that at all) which tumbles from £49.95 to a more wallet friendly £34, saving £15.95.

Tough luck if you're after a MacBook Air or Pro - their prices are staying stubbornly put but there are more savings to be had in the Mac and iPod departments so have a virtual rummage through the Apple bargain bin on the website and see if you can't pick something out.
