Apple: 21 weeks - 300 million apps

Apple App Store hits 300000 downloadsWhen the Apple App Store opened 21 short weeks ago on 11th July, it had just 500 apps and, well, zero downloads. Now look how it's grown. It's just hit a mighty 300,000,000 downloads and over 10,000 apps.

The news has rather randomly appeared buried in the blur of this US print ad that appeared on Friday. Given that in October it was smashing through the 200,000 mark with 5,000 apps, we reckon that should see it hitting thee million mark with around a zillion or so apps some time around mid-March. Mark our word - our graph paper never lies.

We'd draw some sort of 3D bar chart showing exponential growth of apps and downloads but it's late and Sunshine's on...in HD. Laters.
