Countdown to Christmas, 13 days: LG KP500 Cookie

LG Cookie KP500Less than two weeks to go and we've already covered the full gamut from the iPhone to musical reindeer. Falling somewhere between those two on the price/generosity scale is the cut-price touchscreen LG KP500 Cookie.

Since we first greeted it in October the touchscreen of budget choice has tumbled in price from a tiny £150 to a miniscule £97.82 on pay as you go.

That slots it right into Christmas pressie territory and, judging by the interest in it on this site, we reckon it'll be under more than a few trees come the 25th.

Something of a dark horse among the iPhones, BlackBerry Storms and T-Mobile G1s of this year, it packs in an impressive list of features for the money. Customisable widgets adorn the home screen of it's 3in touchscreen, with an interface that runs rings around the Xperia X1's. Rounding things off is a 3mp camera and a MicroSD slot for music and movies.

Course, you can't have it all for £97.82 and for that you'll have to give up 3G and GPS. We can forgive the latter but no HSDPA? How will we cope? Perhaps the two hundred notes left over from the money we would have laid out for a Pay & Go iPhone will make up for it.

You can bag it now on Virgin Mobile, O2 and T-Mobile from Carphone Warehouse - or see the rest of our countdown for other gift ideas.
