Vodafone denies any BlackBerry Storm return issues

BlackBerry Storm on VodafoneAfter some shocking figures on BlackBerry Storm return rates in the US, gathered by Boy Genius Report from "trusted" sources, we contacted Vodafone to see if there might be any truth in the reports that up to half of all Storms were being sent back by dissatisfied customers.

Verizon Wireless, the US carrier, had already issued a denial, stating, “The Storm has the lowest return rate of any of our PDAs and at this point in its life cycle, it has the lowest return rate of any PDA we currently sell.” Today we had a reply from Vodafone, which also quashed any suggestions that customer returns might be anything but normal. Read on.

Vodafone's Samantha Botting told us: "We wouldn't disclose returns, and I've no idea about rates in the US, but I've looked at the report that you can see on Boy Genius, and there's nowhere near that number here in the UK."

She added: "I wouldn't be able to give you a figure but it's nowhere near that, it's considerably less. In fact, it's probably just in line with normal handset figures."

Anecdotally, we have have had complaints from people who ended up returning their BlackBerry Storm to Vodafone, but also contact from people who love it. You can make up your mind by reading our full review .
