Dell announces Mini 10 netbook with GPS and 720p
The Dell launches keep on coming at CES. Fresh from the Inspiron 15 and new Studio XPS line-up, it's unveiled a new 10in netbook that slots in neatly between the 8.9in Dell Mini 9 and the 12.1in Mini 12. The aptly named Mini 10 joins the legion of new 10in netbooks hitting the shelves, but packs some stand-out features.
Top of the list is its built-in GPS and a 720p capable, glass display with a movie-minded 16:9 aspect ratio for hi-def content. Dell's also taken tips from other makers and fitted an edge-to-edge keyboard to maximise typing space. Below that is a muti-touch and gesture control touchpad to give the new MacBook a run for its money.
Tucked under the bonnet is a standard 1.6GHz Atom Z530, with an undisclosed serving of RAM and hard disk space but Dell did reveal that mobile broadband and - uniquely - a digital TV tuner would be built in. We're not yet sure about Bluetooth but it does have wireless-n.
As with the rest of the Mini range, you can expect as choice of hues from Dell's "expanded color [sic] palette" as well as "popular Design Studio images".
We'll update with UK pricing, pics and spec details as we get them.
