GSM Palm Pre arriving this June?

by Julian Prokaza on Thursday 29 January 2009 Comment

sarahcuda on TwitterTwo separate Palm Pre ETAs we've stumbled across today from two quite different sources. One the micro-blogging phenomenom that is Twitter, the other PDAdb.net, a site that calls itself "The World's largest, most comprehensive and [importantly for us] most accurate online PDA Database." More after the jump.

The Twitter source is tech journalist Sarah Lucy who Twitters by the name of sarahcuda. In three posts she unfolds her conversations with Sprint employees in the US.

On 23rd June at 9.25pm she writes:

i honestly tried to bribe sprint employees to give me an unlocked pre. they're all training on them! i know they have them back there

Before adding two minutes later:

sprint employees told me the pre doesn't come out until JUNE! :(

And just for clarification at 9.36pm she Twitts:

they told me they were training on them but they don't come out until june. so both are true

So that's no US-based Sprint launch till June then, but what about our GSM date? Well, the aforementioned PDAdb.net has a different take on both launches. It puts the US Palm Pre down for release in April, and the GSM version as "Release Date:  June, 2009".

We know which one we want to believe but for now it's guesswork whether either source is accurate.
