Hands on with the Nokia Booklet 3G
Nokia is running its annual Nokia World shindig this week and more details of its recently announced Booklet 3G netbook are filtering out.
The Nokia Blog managed to snag some time with the Booklet 3G and shot a bunch of photos that show off its ultra-slim design. In fact they go as far as to compare it to an Apple MacBook and we suspect the smooth aluminium case and glass screen play a major part in that.
More details and photos after the cut.
A Nokia spokesperson also revealed a few more snippets about the Booklet 3G’s specification in a demo that was filmed by The Register. That 12-hour battery life comes courtesy of a 16-cell (!) battery and an Intel Atom Z530 processor that runs at 1.6GHz.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Booklet 3G handles full-screen video on its 1280 x 720 screen or via the HDMI port — the Atom processor and Intel GMA 500 graphics just aren’t up to HD video playback, based on the netbooks we’ve seen so far. Hopefully, we'll see a video demo of its multimedia features later this week.
Still, there is one small highlight — the SIM card slot for the onboard 3G is also side-mounted, which makes a change from having to power down and pop out the battery to get at it.
Here’s the specification so far:
