Windows 7 netbook drivers now available for download
Windows 7 went on sale at midnight today and copies should have been dropping on doorsteps across the country.
Netbook manufacturers are already offering models with Windows 7 pre-installed and most are now also offering 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 drivers for download.
In our experience, the Windows 7 seems to be pretty successful at grabbing everything it needs from the install DVD and Windows Update, but we have read reports about some hardware still needing a dedicated driver.
Still, if you have had to resort to using a Windows Vista driver to get your netbook up and running with Windows 7, it’s worth checking out the appropriate manufacturer driver download page to see what’s available.
Here’s what we’ve found so far:
- Acer — downloads for the Aspire One 751, Aspire One 531, Aspire One D250
- ASUS — Eee PC 1005HA, Eee PC 1008HA, 1101HA, Eee PC T91
- Dell — Inspiron 11z, Inspiron Mini 10
- HP — Mini 110, Mini 311, Mini 1000, Mini 2140, Mini 5101
- Lenovo — None listed.
- MSI — Wind U100, Wind U200
- Samsung — NC10
- Toshiba — NB200, NB205
These models are the only ones with Windows 7 drivers listed at the moment, but you can expect the list to grow over the next few weeks. If you find any other Windows 7 netbook downloads, please let us know in the comments.
