Dell Adamo XPS photos show that it's no laptop
All we’ve known so far about the Dell Adamo XPS is that makes the MacBook Air look like the Osborne 1, but now lots of photos have appeared that show just how this razor-thin laptop hangs together.
The all-aluminium body has an upside-down design and the keyboard is hinged onto the lid, rather than the other way around. The design also means that when opened, the bottom end of the lid lifts the keyboard up at a shallow angle for a better typing position.
There’s nothing so clumsy as a catch to keep the whole thing closed, either — the two halves are separated by sliding a finger along a touch-sensitive strip.
The photos come courtesy of Czech tech site, Zive, who spent some hands-on time with a prototype, and they also have some words to say about its specification. It’s powered by an as-yet-unidentified Intel ULV processor, so the Adamo won’t be a powerhouse, but there’s a good chance that it will have half-decent battery life.

The 13.4in screen has a resolution of 1280 x 720 and there’s 4Gb of memory with an SSD drive — though there’s no word on its capacity.
One thing that is clear from these new photos is the that Dell Adamo XPS is not a laptop — there’s no way that the design will work on a lap…
The Adamo XPS is due for release in November, so we should start to get more concrete information over the next few weeks.
