Orange won't prohibit 'popular streaming services' on the iPhone

More information on Orange’s data plans for the iPhone is trickling out. Earlier today, Conor Maples from the Orange Communications team tweeted “I can confirm that popular streaming services will not be banned for iPhone users”, followed by “We have had iPhone in other European countries for a while now & research shows the average user uses less than 200mb per month”.
Sadly, @ConorfromOrange didn’t respond to our question about which ‘popular streaming services’ he was referring to, and, in the absence of information to the contrary (Orange isn’t replying to our emails either), we must assume that common iPhone apps like AIM, Skype and TruPhone are still forbidden. So, this still doesn’t sound like a great deal for iPhone users who don’t fancy O2.

Orange answered or rather avoided my question about streaming video by apologising for my lack of understanding of the iphone's ability!!! I've only waited 2 years to buy one! Still awaiting a reply to my e-mail with their terms and conditions on streaming video attached in bold type.
Sorry Orange but if you are going to limit my browsing, the main reason for buying one, i might as well buy it from O2. You may have better 3G coverage, but what is the point when i can only download 750mb.
Go on make unlimited mean unlimited without an asterisk! -
Hi Julian,
Sorry I did't get to answer your question on Twitter yesterday, I was simply confirming that we would not be blocking any Apps as there had been some confusion over one of our T&C's which needed updating, which we have done.
We don't plan to block any Apps on iPhone.

No problem, Conor — it's not the best communications medium...
Here's some interesting analysis about iPhone data use from PC Pro: http://www.pcpro.co.uk/blogs/2009/11/04/will-you-hit-the-orange-iphone-unlimited-cap/
