Apple removes Intel Atom support from latest Mac OS 10.6.2 beta - again

Apple only restored support for the Intel Atom processor in the latest build of its Mac OS Snow Leopard 10.6.2 beta last week, but not the most recent build has removed it again.

Short of making Hackintosh users break out in a cold sweat, it’s anyone’s guess what Apple could be up to here and there doesn’t seem to be much point in reporting on the “will it or won’t it?” situation until the final release of this operating system update is ready.

If you are interested in following every last detail of this ongoing saga, here’s what happens when the latest build is installed and started on an Atom-powered netbook. Exciting stuff…
