Google Earth 2.0 for iPhone released - still no sign of an Android version

Google has updated the Earth app that it first released for the iPhone a year ago. Google Earth 2.0 for iPhone now supports 31 languages and the UI has been tweaked to make it easier to browse embedded map data. Icons now glow when tapped to indicate their selection and if you accidentally swipe a finger over several icons, the details for all of them are displayed on one screen — you then just choose the one you want to look at.

A more notable addition is support for the My Maps option found in the desktop versions of Google Earth and Google Maps. Any maps that you created or saved can now be viewed in Google Earth for iPhone 2.0 by tapping the app’s “i’ icon and logging into your Google Account.

Google Earth 2.0 for iPhone is available in the App Store now ( iTunes link) — or just check for an update on your iPhone if you already have it installed. Incidentally, Google Earth still isn’t available for Android
