Internet service provider Virgin Media will be demonstrating its 200Mb broadband service at the Ideal Home Show, taking place at Earls Court between 20 March and 5 April.
Virgin Media is currently trialling its 200Mb broadband in Kent and has announced it will be rolling out the demo of this speedier service to folks in Coventry soon.
Plans have been announced officially launch its 100Mb service before the end of the year, so the public launch of a faster 200Mb broadband product looks like it's a little way off for the time being. In theory, with a 200Mb connection in tow it would be possible to download large, High Definition films in a couple of minute or an hour-long TV show in just a few seconds.
Speaking on the 200Mb service, Virgin Media's executive director of brand and marketing, Ashley Stockwell, commented: "By pushing the boundaries of broadband in the UK we hope to drive a change in the way Brits enjoy and experience digital entertainment and exciting new services."
As well as its 200Mb broadband service, Virgin Media will also be using the exhibition to demo its imminent 3D TV service as well its next-generation TV service using TiVo software.
Last week the provider confirmed it will be bringing TiVo software to its set-top boxes by Christmas 2010. Using this feature viewers will be able to view online content from the likes of YouTube or stream from an online retailer such as Amazon.

cant wait to get it -
100Mb, 200Mb, it doesn't matter. What Virgin need to get a grip on is the contention ratio. I have Virgin Cable Broadband and at busy times it runs at 200-300Kb. -
@ Brian, that may be the case for you but the current 50Mb users are on a dedicated UBR and line so we don't experience the slowdown that you do as your connection is probably the 5Mb 10Mb or 20Mb which all share the same line.
