O2 set to offer Apple iPhone customers upgrade to iPhone 4 later this month

O2, the first UK mobile broadband provider to bring the original iPhone into the UK, has announced a special upgrade deal for the Apple iPhone 4, set for release on June 24.

While the exacts are yet to be revealed, O2 UK chief executive Ronan Dunne said today that there will be a 'limited time special upgrade offer' for existing O2 iPhone contract customers. More details will follow later this week.

The iPhone 4 has been described as the thinnest smartphone in the world, while boasting the highest resolution screen ever built into such a device. Whether it will also be a decent phone for actually making calls will remain to be seen.

Dunne cooed: “Apple has once again raised the bar with the iPhone 4. With three years’ experience in selling the iPhone, we are well placed to support the new device with the best overall experience, including making it easy for new and existing customers to get their hands on one.”

We will keep you up to date on all the latest iPhone information as we get it, and our smartphone comparison tables will link you through to all the best deals as soon as they go live.

Why should you be able to upgrade when only half way through your contract?
Makes me laugh when a new iPhone comes out and people just gotta get one no matter how much of there contract is left. Never used to be this way.
