3 Mobile set to release iPhone 4 on June 24: preorders open June 15

Three Mobile has this morning announced that, like rival UK mobile broadband supplier O2, it will begin selling Apple's iPhone 4 on June 24. Excited punters can begin signing up for the new smartphone on Tuesday, June 15.

Apple bigwig Steve Jobs spoke about the company's new flagship device last week at its Worldwide Developers Conference, saying the iPhone 4 will have a five-megapixel camera and a screen with four times the resolution of the current iPhone. More details weren't forthcoming, but this will not bother the baying hordes of Apple devotees keen to swallow up anything Apple deems them worthy of.

Jobs did also reveal the Apple iPhone 4 would be the thinnest smartphone in the world, boasting it had more than 100 new features; we can only hope the majority of them make this a good phone for actually calling and texting, rather than an an iPod Touch with a handset bolted on. Early images make the handset look impressive though.

Neither 3 or O2 have announced details of pricing as yet, although we comfortably predict you'll see the now standard all-you-can-eat data tariffs on iPhone 4 contract deals. as soon as we have more details, we'll let you know.
