Sky Sports reaches out to both Sky and BT customers

footballToday BT confirmed an agreement it's made with BSkyB for the wholesale supply of Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2.

Thanks to this deal BT customers will be able sign up for these two dedicated sports channels from early July 2010. Meanwhile, BT Vision customers will be able to view Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 from 1 August 2010.

This should be good news for football fans as this offering is in time for the start of the Premier League football season on 14 August 2010.

Speaking on the Sky Sports additions, Gavin Patterson, chief executive of BT Retail, said: "We are delighted to have reached this milestone, which means that we can be certain of offering Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 to our customers before the football season kicks off. We know our customers will be keen to sign up for the two channels."

Unfortunately, there is no word on pricing yet for these two additional channels.

In more Sky Sports news Sky also announced today customers on the Sky Sports Pack will be given bonus access from 12 July until the end of the year to both Sky Mobile TV and Sky Player.

For a single monthly subscription sports fans will be able to access coverage from a range of platforms and devices including iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, Mac, Windows Media Centre, Fetch TV, Sky HD and Red Button.

Forthcoming events due to be broadcast on the Sky Sports channels include the Barclays Premier League, Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League, PGA European Tour Golf, Guinness Premiership Rugby among others.

This offer will end after 31 December 2010 when customers will automatically be charged for the standard price for Sky Mobile TV until they unsubscribe.
