Five BlackBerry smartphones become available to O2 Pay & Go customers

O2 has announced that they will be selling a selection of five Blackberry smartphones to Pay & Go customers.

There is something for everyone, including the BlackBerry Pearl 3G, which is the smallest model in the range at £249.99, the BlackBerry Curve 8520 at £149.99 and the BlackBerry Bold 9700 at £349.99.

Despite the sizeable outlay initially, Pay & Go customers can enjoy inclusive BBM (the BlackBerry Instant Messenger application) and 500MB data access when they top up with a minimum of £15 per month. Customers also get 500 texts per month if they top up between £15 and £29 per month. Unlimited texts can be had if £30 or more is spent each month on top ups.

“O2’s new Pay & Go tariffs for BlackBerry smartphones will bring all the benefits of BlackBerry to even more of our customers,” said Jonathan Earle, Head of Consumer Marketing for Telefónica O2 UK. “With BBM being used more and more across the world, now anyone can share their PIN and get chatting.”

Customers who prefer to take the contract route can also expect to see revamped Pay Monthly tariffs for O2 BlackBerry smartphones. Anyone on a 24 month contract will be offered 500 minutes, unlimited texts, Wi-Fi and 500Mb of data for £25 per month. Customers paying £35 a month can get 1000 minutes and 750MB data on a 24 month contract.
