Plusnet and Eclipse praised in Which? broadband reviews

AOL and Orange less so...

Both Plusnet and Eclipse Internet have fared well in the latest round of home broadband reviews carried out by consumer test junkies Which?

Plusnet topped the first Which? Consumer Satisfaction Survey specifically for superfast providers , with an overall satisfaction score of 84 per cent.

It also got four-star recommendations for value, reliability, customer service and tech support on its way to gaining Which? Recommended status.

Eclipse Internet was also given ‘Recommended’ status, for an impressive third year in a row. The recommendations use feedback from 12,000 Which? members and rate 17 home broadband suppliers, each of which needs an average of 70 per cent or higher to get the gong.

Eclipse director Clodagh Murphy commented: “We are extremely pleased yet again to have been recognised by such a prestigious consumer body as Which? We pride ourselves on consistently providing leading broadband speeds, and also on the quality of service carried out day in and day out by our hardworking technical support team members who are setting industry-leading standards for call answering times.”

You have to sign up to Which? (£1 for a one-month trial and £9.75 per month after that) to get the full reviews and recommendations (six ISPs were given the accolade in total), but it was happy to share the two broadband suppliers it really wouldn’t recommend: Orange and AOL.

While these two names aren’t really a surprise it is a big blow for Orange, which has been doing an awful lot over the past year to try and set its reputation as a quality broadband provider back on track.
