BE cuts the price of its Value broadband but caps data

Internet service provider BE Broadband has slashed the price of its Value broadband product from £13.50 per month to £7.50 on a 12-month contract.

Take a look BE Broadband website and you'll notice the price has been cut for good, but that some other changes have been made to the package.

Originally, BE Value was offered with unlimited downloads. Data usage has now been capped to 40GB per month, suggesting it's now targetting its product to lighter users who want a simple and cheap broadband package.

This download limit isn't going to come into force immediately, however. It's easing into the data cap by offering unlimited usage until 30 June 2010. After this time, if customers regularly go over their cap they will be asked to moved to an unlimited package.

Meanwhile, download speed will remain the same at 8Mb with upload speed set at 1.3Mb. Customers will also receive an ADSL 2+ enabled modem and free 24 hour support.

Tiscali (talktalk) is only £4.95 a month unlimited, so I will stay where I am.
