Go green with Orange by recycling your old gadgets

If you're one of the thousands of people that has recently replaced an old laptop with a new one, you can now cash in by trading in your ageing machine with Orange. The ISP has today launched a 'Recycle & Reward' scheme where people can recycle old laptops - as well as mobiles, MP3 players and other devices - and receive cash for the better products.

All you have to do is put all your dodgy old handsets and other bits and pieces in a bag and head to your local Orange store. Staff will tell you what each item is worth, and you'll get a cheque sent to you within seven days - and you'll be helping the environment too. What's not to like? Not everything will be eligible for a cash reward though, so don't expect a small fortune for your first battered old PAYG handset.

Paul French, Orange's head of care products, said: “At Orange, we’ve made some significant strides recently in reducing the environmental impact of our business. Recycle & Reward is just another small step, for us as a business and for the public, in our journey towards greener, more sustainable practices."
