now the next thing in line to modify and/or Hack, would be the actual "bubble zoom" feature, that the iphone has, during qwerty keyboard uses' via text messages/usage. All Verizon has to do is run a special, "Buy 2 get 1 free!" on a family package, then the iphone is technically beat by popularity! Other than that, I plan to renew a contract with Verizon to get the special price for the Nexus One!
Hackers bring new features to Google's Nexus One handset
A hacker has brought the popular multi-touch functionality to Google's recently released handset, the Nexus One.
Unveiled earlier this month, the Nexus One is the first ever handset from internet giant Google. It looks similar to Apple's massive-selling iPhone, but runs Google's mobile operating platform Android. However, one of the popular features of the iPhone which is missing on the Nexus is multi-touch functionality, which allows users to use two fingers on the touch screen to resize images and to zoom in and out of content on web pages. When the Nexus One was released, possibly owing to a request from Apple - or fear of its enthusiastic legal department - the handset did not have the multi-touch functionality.
Now, perhaps unsurprisingly, given that Android is a very developer-friendly open-source platform, an update has been released by a hacker which adds multi-touch to the Nexus. The hack was released earlier this week just as Google officially made the new Android version 2.1 open source - meaning that more custom modifications will no doubt follow.
