O2 comes out on top at ISPA awards

Monday 13 July 2009 Comment

Internet service provider, O2 is celebrating this week after a successful run at this year's Internet Service Providers Association Awards (ISPA).

Scooping both the best consumer fixed broadband award as well as the best consumer customer service award, O2 was one of the only major broadband firms to experience success at the awards.

Consistently being picked out as one of the more favourable providers when it comes to customer service, the ISPA judges settled on O2 for the consumer customer service category after concluding it was “over and above that of other entrants”. In particular, it was its commitment to fulfilling predicted service speeds that caught the judges' attention.

Standing out from the crowd of providers, O2 fought off rival finalists Be Unlimited, Eclipse Internet, Newnet, PlusNet and Virgin Media to be crowned best consumer broadband operator thanks to the low level of complaints over its service and a commitment to users' security.

Vodafone was the only other big name featuring at the event at the Grosvenor Marriott Hotel as it was awarded the prize for best consumer mobile broadband. Other than that, the night was really a momentous triumph for smaller providers.

Business broadband also featured heavily during the event with the best business fixed broadband internet service provider award going to Claranet.
