O2 offers free home broadband to iPhone customers

Apple iPhone addicts may be pleased to hear of the launch of a new package being offered by O2 which will allow customers to purchase the iPhone Internet Tethering bolt-on and receive the standard O2 Home Broadband package completely free.

From today until the 31 December 2009 Pay Monthly iPhone customers who purchase the discounted £9.79 per month 3GB Internet Tethering Bolt On will be able to make sure they stay connected whether they're at home, or out and about on their phone or laptop.

Alternatively, if the standard O2 Home Broadband package thrown into this deal doesn't offer quite enough in terms of download speed it's possible to claim a £7.34pm discount against any other O2 Home Broadband product including Premium, Pro or O2 Home Broadband Access.

Speaking on the deal, Peter Rampling, head of consumer mobile at O2, said: “This is a brilliant deal for people who want tethering and home internet. Effectively you get both for just £9.79 a month. Total Connectivity means our customers will always be connected, at home and on the move.”

It probably isn't just coicidence today, rival mobile phone and broadband operator Orange marked the end of O2's exclusive two-year deal with Apple by launching the iPhone on its network, albeit with a set data usage limit of 750Mb per month.
