Following the company acquisition earlier in the year internet and phone provider Tiscali is to be officially rebranded as TalkTalk in January.

The move has been confirmed by a TalkTalk spokesperson to Which? with notification the Tiscali brand “will be no more” from 7 January 2010.

The rebrand will mean existing Tiscali customers will be automatically moved over onto the TalkTalk network. Although it won’t happen immediately, the provider plans to complete the transition over the period of a year. To avoid complex pricing structures all Tiscali customers’ monthly bills will be brought in line with TalkTalk’s. The provider has suggested it would prefer subscribers to sign up to both phone and broadband services rather than standalone broadband.

Although it’s been estimated some standalone broadband packages will be lower on TalkTalk than Tiscali, some customers will have to pay more if they opt to sign up to a bundled package.

TalkTalk has confirmed it will be contacting all remaining Tiscali broadband customers shortly. Meanwhile, common FAQs on the switchover are available to view at www.tiscali.co.uk/members/talktalk .
