Treasure Hunt competition to promote Vodafone mobile-broadband embedded laptop
In order to promote Vodafone's new Dell Inspiron Mini 9 - the first laptop to have both embedded Wi-Fi and mobile broadband capabilities - a treasure hunt has been set up to give participants the chance to win one of the gadgets.
Dubbed 'Meet LiveGuy', every day the Vodafone representative (donning a bright red jumper emblazened with the words "I'M LIVE GUY") has four netbooks with built-in mobile broadband to give away. A real treasure hunt for the 21st century, LiveGuy has planned a route and will be using online apps like Twitter, Facebook, Google Picasa and YouTube in order to leave clues about his location. Alternatively, clues will be left on the blog at http://liveguy.vodafone.co.uk.
In order to stand a chance of winning a Dell Inspiron Mini 9, participants are invited to track down the LiveGuy and say the words, "You're LiveGuy and I'm a Vodafone winner" for a chance to win a netbook.
Alternatively, for those out of distance of the locations visited by LiveGuy an online competition will also be running. There will be one netbook up for grabs on the Vodafone site. Those interested should guess where LiveGuy is on GoogleMaps and the closest tag will win the laptop.
The LiveGuy hunt starts on Monday 17th November.
