UK prepay dongle sales rise to 8,000 per week

It has been reported that sales of prepay broadband dongles have risen to around 8,000 per week as more customers than ever seek the benefits of mobile broadband without the commitment of a contract.

The new figures announced by GfK show a staggering increase of 7,000 per week compared to sales at the start of the year. In January approximately 1,000 mobile broadband dongles were sold per week. The new tally takes the total number of USB dongle sales up to around 30,000 for both prepay and contract devices. Increased visibility in high street stores such as Woolworths are considered to have helped boost the dongle demand. Source: Mobile Today
