Virgin Media offers free landline calls to some mobile phones

Virgin Media has revealed it will become the first phone provider in the UK to offer both new and existing customers the chance to call mobile phone numbers from landlines for free (albeit Virgin Media mobile numbers only).
The free mobile phone calls will be added to the unlimited voice calls to UK landline deals already available with Virgin Phone packages, including those with bundled broadband and phone.
According to the provider, around 10 per cent of Virgin Media customers are currently subscribed to ‘quadplay’ services, bundling in broadband, phone, TV and mobile phone. Virgin Media has estimated nearly half a million customers will be able to benefit from free calls from their Virgin landlines to their Virgin Mobiles.
Speaking on the deal, Graeme Oxby, executive director of mobile and telephony at Virgin Media said: “Our successful quadplay strategy has demonstrated customers are looking for exceptional value by bundling more services together, and this move to include free calls to mobiles with our home phone service underlines our commitment to ensure Virgin Media customers get the best deals possible.”
