Dell Smartphone: Buyers' Review

Dell has long been known as a reliable and cheap PC manufacturer, but now the company has turned its attention to the smartphone market and has come out with some sleek Dell smartphone models. Dell has a lot of expertise and years of experience in making hi-tech gadgets and it's clear that the company sees a strong future in mobile phones. Usually, you can't really go wrong with a Dell buy, as the company offers some great deals, but with so many options in the 3G smartphones market, you should carefully look at how Dell's smartphones compare with other popular phones like the iPhone and HTC touch screen phones.

Optimum shape and size

Dell phones look nice and it is clear that a lot of effort has gone into getting the shape and size right. They can easily slip into your pocket but have a big enough display so that you can use them as an entertainment and productivity device. The display is widescreen, which gives you a better experience when you watch videos on it or even when you are just surfing the web. With a widescreen, you'll have to do lesser pinching and wouldn’t have to strain your eyes when reading text. The phones also fit well in your hand and do not feel bulky in comparison with some of the other 3G phones in the UK market.

Feature-rich and powerful phones

Like most other leading mobile phone manufacturers, Dell is focusing all its attention on developing good looking and feature-rich touch screen mobile phones. The glass used in the phones is high quality and scratch resistant so your multimedia experience stays the same even as the phone gets older. The camera is high resolution and you can go for a model that has both front and back cameras.

One of the best aspects of Dell smartphones is that they are quite powerful and have a really fast processor. This allows you to multitask and run heavy, resource hungry applications on the phone. You wouldn’t have to face delays while playing games or watching videos. Most of the latest Dell phones run Google's Android OS, which means that you get a huge marketplace of apps to enhance the functionality of your phone. Dell offers 3G, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, so you have several options when you want to connect your phone to devices or take it online.

In terms of memory, Dell phones compare favourably to Apple's iPhone, as you get a memory card socket and are not limited by an inbuilt memory chip. You can swap as many memory cards as you want and use cards with up to 32GB of space. Your Dell smartphone will also come with an inbuilt GPS and compass, which makes it a great travel companion. Thanks to its multitasking ability, you can listen to songs and access maps or compass at the same time.

No smartphone these days is complete without giving you Facebook and Twitter applications and Dell doesn’t let us down in this respect. You also get a Flickr widget so that you can quickly and easily put your photographs online.
