The latest edition of the world-conquering smartphone, the Apple iPhone 5 offers a couple of notable improvements over the iPhone 4S, which continues to be sold albeit at a reduced price.
Most obvious is the larger 4-inch screen, the first time it's been increased since the phone was first introduced in 2007. The Apple iPhone 5 still boasts Retina technology with an impressively sharp 326ppi pixel density and resolution of 640 x 1136.
The graphics processor has also been upgraded, while the main CPU is the same dual-core 1.2GHz Apple A6. Another change is the build materials - rather than a glass rear panel the phone now features aluminium throughout, with a nice two-tone colour scheme on the rear. This is more attractive and more durable than the iPhone 4S.
