Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML based format used for content distribution and syndication. Subscribing to RSS Feeds allows you to receive custom, up to date information from your favorite online content sources without having to regularly check the site for updates.
Installing a news reader that displays RSS feeds from the websites you specify allows you to keep up to date with all your favorite content by checking the RSS feeds you have subscribed to and displaying new items from each feed. Instead of downloading a dedicated news reader, you can also use a web-based news reader.
Broadband Genie offers several broadband RSS feeds for lists such as bestsellers, UK broadband providers, broadband news etc. as well as personalised feeds for your postcode or your set of results based on a broadband Wish 2 search. To subscribe to a normal broadband just click on the orange 'RSS' button next to each feed. To personalise a feed either specify your postcode or click on the RSS feed button on a results page.
To create a feed for a postcode region, use the following link and replace [postcode] with the actual one you require (no spaces)
e.g. http://feeds.broadbandgenie.co.uk/rss/results/[postcode]
If you run a search or an advanced search on the site you will displayed with a set of results based on your postcode as well as other criteria. To save these as a personalised feed you would just click on the RSS button on the results page.
You can get updates on a broadband provider of your choice (e.g. AOL) by visiting their profile pages and clicking the RSS feed at the bottom of the page.
