Comparing mobile broadband in Tameside
Vodafone, Three, EE and O2 all report a good service across the Tameside area for both 3G and 4G. Vodafone’s 3G network is slightly patchy for indoor coverage in several places although outdoor users should have no issues. Their 4G is consistently good across the centre of the region, with indoor coverage variable to the north and south-east.
3G and 4G on both EE and O2 should offer no significant problems across the district.
Three has recently introduced its 4G Super-Voice low frequency spectrum network, which aims to allow the signal to travel much further inside buildings. This will help residents of places like Stalybridge, where indoor coverage on their regular 4G network is extremely variable from the north-east right round to the south.
3G is the most widespread type of network throughout the UK, but if you need the best speed then 4G is the way to go. Since all the networks now offer 4G access without a premium it's a good idea to pick up a 4G compatible dongle, tablet or smartphone anyway so you can enjoy the speed when it's available and your device is future proof.

Comparing home broadband in Tameside
The area of Tameside is served by seven broadband exchanges. They all provide ADSL for broadband throughout the region and all but three are enabled to receive Virgin Media’s fibre services. So, if you live in the Stalybridge, Mottram or Mossley districts and are looking for faster downloads and streaming then instead you may be eligible for BT’s Infinity fibre optic broadband. This is available in a lot of areas but you’ll need to check that your exact street is set up for it. Remember that even when an exchange is enabled it does not necessarily mean the service can be installed at your home.
Fibre optic broadband is perfect if you want high speed broadband to handle big downloads or high definition video streaming. It's also useful if your broadband will be serving a busy household with many people. But if you'd like to keep costs as low as possible then ADSL broadband provides reasonable speeds at a lower price.
LLU operators support ADSL services throughout Tameside, including Sky and Talk Talk, who also provide all-in-one bundles of television, phone and home broadband. It’s not just them here, however; you can also find package deals from Fuel, BT and EE.
