EE Broadband existing customer deals: Should you renew or upgrade?
Once your broadband deal has reached the end of its contract you are free to switch to a new provider, and we usually recommend this because it’s often the best way to save money on broadband.

You can also renew your existing EE broadband deal. This is the simplest option as there will be no interruption to your broadband service, but you should at least speak to EE about what they can offer you to stay, otherwise, you can end up paying a lot more.

EE does not advertise deals specifically for existing customers, but if you do decide to renew then you can expect to get a price that’s about the same as that offered to new EE subscribers.

However, you will not be able to claim any vouchers or other special offers, as these are for new customers. That is why we recommend looking at what else is out there before renewing with EE because you could get a reward deal that ends up saving a lot of money.

EE Broadband upgrade deals
When renewing your EE broadband contract you can take the opportunity to upgrade your broadband speed.
But an upgrade might still be an option even if you already have fibre broadband. The entry-level EE Fibre Broadband package has an average speed of 36Mb, and if you have already have this one you probably will be able to move to EE Fibre Plus, with an average speed of 67Mb.
If you have EE Fibre Plus there is also an upgrade path, because EE also offers quicker Fibre Max services with speeds up to 900Mb. However, the catch is that the availability of this service is currently extremely limited, so if this is not an option then Fibre Plus will be the fastest service you can get with EE.

What happens to my contract when I renew or upgrade?
There will be very little change to your EE broadband service when upgrading or renewing. A renewal will involve no interruption to the service, with the only change being an adjustment to your monthly payment.
Upgrades might involve a small disruption to the connection, and perhaps require an engineer visit, but this will depend on the type of broadband you have currently.
Can I upgrade my EE broadband?
Upgrading your broadband is probably an option if you currently have ADSL broadband or 36Mb fibre. If you have EE Fibre Plus (67Mb average speed) then it is likely to be the fastest option available, though some homes can now get EE Fibre Max with speeds up to 900Mb.
Can I get EE in my area?

Will I get a new Wi-Fi router?
A new router will probably only be supplied if you upgrade to a faster speed that is not supported by your current hardware.
Otherwise, you can ask for a new one but it might require payment. However, If you are negotiating a renewal then it is worth requesting a new router as part of the deal.
